August 25th is the date for the 2nd annual Wapsi
Wilderness Wipeout Run (6K). Help make this event a hallmark event for Jones County.
The goal for this event is to draw people from all parts of Iowa to see the beauty of Jones County, specifically Wapsipinicon State Park. Help us make this event a huge success! Contact Lisa Diers (ldiers@fmbankia.com) if you would like to become a sponsor or would like to help out in some way.

Movies in the Park

Title: Movies in the Park
Location: Monticello Pool
Description: On June 2nd Ignite will be hosting a Movie Night at the Monticello Pool. There will be free swimming and the movie The Muppets will begin airing when the sun goes down. We invite all families to pack a picnic basket and come out for a fun, free, family night in Monticello.
The movie will be presented on a 28 foot screen and is provided through Moonlight Flix. Check out Moonlight Flix by going to their website http://moonlightflix.com/.

Overall Female (Amy Marshall) and Male (Russell Nieman) Winners

The Inagural Wapsi Wilderness Wipeout (WWW), presented by Jones Regional Medical Center, was held on October 16, 2011 at Wapsipinicon State Park in Anamosa. 65 runners traversed the 6k course on a beautiful fall day.

Overall champions were Russell Nieman of Peosta (male) and Amy Marshall of Lisbon (female). Other race results may be viewed here.

The Wapsi Wilderness Wipeout race is coming soon!

The Wapsi Wilderness Wipeout, presented by Jones Regional Medical Center, will be held on October 16, 2011 at 10:00 AM. The 6 kilometer course provides scenic vistas of the Wapsipinicon River and State Park as it traverses trails through native prairie grasses, towering pines and along meandering creeks.

We are still accepting registration for runners through Get Me Registered.
